Aladdin Mediterranean Cuisine History
Aladdin Mediterranean Cuisine has remained a state-of-the-art restaurant in Houston since 2006. Who founded it? Well, we have no idea.
But we highly believe that the person behind Aladdin Mediterranean Grill is also the person who founded the Cuisine Department.
And that person was the master chef, Wahib Arbid. In fact, both restaurants have been registered on the same website, divided by name only.
So if you are looking for either of these, then it’s most likely that you will end up in the same place. Anyhow, Grill and Cusine have different target groups.
Grill refers to grilled meat or even smoked meat, depending on the occasion. While Mediterranean cuisine means dishes from countries located in the Mediterranean Sea.
So mostly, you’ll see vegan-friendly dishes since that’s what people from these areas prefer. Including meat too, but the portion will be all over the place.
We won’t talk about Wahib that much since we don’t talk about any co-owner or partner, and only mentioning him would be kind of unjustified for them.
Anyway, these Houston-based restaurants have surpassed the flow of time and remained the champions for years.
With the power of Chicken Kabob, Gyro Sandwich, and many other Mediterranean cuisines, it managed to build a loyal customer base.
Is the business booming? Well, sadly, no. There is only one restaurant located so far, and this is undeniable proof that the business is stable but not at its peak.
Still, that doesn’t matter as long as the founders are happy. It’s standing in 2024, and that’s a big achievement in itself.
Many restaurants have fallen victim to the competition. Just last week, a bunch of mashed potato recipes were added to the menu. Some can be ordered right now, while most of them are still being perfected behind the sink.
Aladdin Mediterranean Cuisine Review
This is the time when we can finally see what this restaurant is made of. Again, make sure to have a look at the Aladdin Mediterranean Cuisine menu and prices, because there is just so much to try.
We immediately started with some chicken kabob. It’s grilled with special seasoning and lemon water. It’s sour by nature and has a hot side to it.
Kebob, or kebab, is an Asian term from Indian or Muslim countries. They grill it like fish while dying the meat in a special mixture of spices before grilling it.
It’s more like the middle of smoking and grilling. That’s why the meat had a hard but smooth texture. The layer of spices was soaked into the meat, even in the middle, where it was spiked.
And I can say this is a feast for just $7. Believe me, I have eaten so many grilled chickens in my lifetime, and none of them can produce this level of flavor while giving us a good chunk of pieces to eat.
Eventually, the staff recommended we try having some complimentary dishes because these kebobs pair well with dishes that don’t have dominating flavors.
So with that recommendation, I ordered another kebob dish called a kafta sandwich. This one came with a side dish, which will fulfill our complementary dish requirement.
The main one was made with grilled minced beef kabob, onions, tomatoes, pickles, and tzatziki sauce.
It’s like a burrito. But the tortilla part is closer to Naan or Roti. It’s an oven-baked or tawa-fried flatbread that can be used as a tortilla.
All they have to do is make it slim, and that’s it. This outside layer feels exactly like that, but the best part is the beef kabob.
Final Thoughts
I’m so impressed by the sheer number of items offered by Aladdin Mediterranean Cuisine. It’s quite heartbreaking that only Houston is blessed with this restaurant.
I can say this much: the foods here are so fulfilling in themselves that I can’t imagine myself eating them daily. It’s like one of those fine liquors that only pops on special occasions.
Now comes the main judgment, and of course, Aladdin Mediterranean Cuisine gets 10/10. It was just a mind-blowing experience, and everyone should have it once in their life.
