Bamboo Bistro History

Bamboo Bistro Inside

It follows the story of the Chau family, who had a solid reputation in the culinary world for making things out of nowhere.

Especially in Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai-style dishes, which aren’t usually the type that American people would love.

But they use their expertise to readjust ingredients, presentation, and anything in between to suit their customers.

The story begins when a Vietnamese immigrant family arrives in Orange City, California. The family consisted of four members.

First, the parents arrived here before immigrating everyone from the other side. It was the late 1980s area, and usually, most immigrants of that time had a big interest in food stalls.

Usually, that’s the easiest way to make money since their food dishes from their homeland would be considered new in the United States.

And new things make people curious; maybe someone will try it, and he may even like it. And what happens when someone likes food? Well, he recommends it to others.

That’s how slowly the reputation started circulating. First, it was their neighbors, who eventually had a few dinners with their family.

There, the rumor started that the Chau family made some delicious dishes. On popular demand, they started making food for others, eventually leading to many restaurants opening.

But the one we are interested in today is the Bamboo Bistro. It opened in 2003 on popular demand from the local communities.

The main goal of this bistro was to serve Vietnamese cuisine at its peak. But over time, with careful consideration and a lot of online and offline reviews, they managed to curate everything to the customers’ liking.

Even menu items were added, like vegetarian dishes, on demand. The short note is that it’s a family-focused restaurant that always cares for its family.

Bamboo Bistro Review

First of all, if you have any doubts about menus or their retail prices, then make sure to check out our second segment, “Bamboo Bistro menu prices” given above.

You’ll find a full list of everything with the latest numbers. Anyway, it’s a Vietnamese restaurant, so I’m expecting a lot of unique dishes.

And I found my first target; it’s KWEK-KWEK. Is that a duck? That’s what I thought, and in reality, it was right.

This is like a fast food dish made from quail eggs. These eggs are first hard-boiled, then the shell is removed, and then they are hand-battered and dipped in vinegar before being deep-fried.

That’s the entire making process, and don’t worry, it’s not confidential information. You can get the recipe anywhere. So does it taste good?

Hell yeah, it does. It’s a bit spicy, so prepare your glass of Coke beforehand. As far as the egg goes, it’s not that different from chicken ones. It’s small, and that’s pretty much obvious.

The batter makes it crispy, so the soft egg white doesn’t bother you that much. Overall, it’s a delightful dish that just tastes great out of the box. Even dipping sauce is wasted on this fantastic item.

Next up is another unique dish called chicken adobo. It’s a Filipino delicacy that can now be enjoyed at home or at one of their stalls.

It uses boneless, skinless chicken thighs and soy sauce. This is pretty similar to most Asian dishes, where soy is heavily used.

Along with bay leaves, green onions, spices, sugar, vinegar, and fine-chopped onions. The broth was well made.

The chicken fat was sinking into them, which made them extra tasty. It produces a sweet and tangy flavor. Enough to make anyone happy; even kids love this one.

Final Thoughts

I’ve experienced a lot of Asian cuisines in the past, and I’m not shy about admitting that most of them surprised me.

It’s the use of spice; there isn’t any special blend, and yet they taste so unique and so good. I can’t believe they eat these mouth-watering dishes almost every day.

Homemade even! Can you imagine that? Here, even frying chicken seems like a lot of work. Meanwhile, Asian maidens make these scrumptious dishes multiple times a week.

Anyway, we are proud to announce that our review crew was fully satisfied. And with that, we now award Bamboo Bistro 9.5/10.
