Bill Miller BBQ History

Bill Miller BBQ Inside

It all started as a poultry and egg delivery farm by William T. “Bill” Miller and Ila Faye Miller in the 1950s. They took out a $500 loan to start the business.

It was the mid-50s, and the purchase value of a single dollar was much more than now. In simpler terms, it was equivalent to $4000 in the modern era.

Anyway, after three years, the firm took on the new initiative of selling fried chicken. The chicken meat came from their own farm, and the same goes for eggs and anything in between.

This is where the legacy truly began. In 1953, the tiny restaurant offered fried chicken takeouts and slowly started adding hamburgers and other popular dishes.

Faye, the wife of Bill, worked as the cashier, and together they raised their four children. They grew up seeing, experiencing, and learning the things their parents were doing.

Over summer break, the entire family would work together and face the challenges head-on. Until the founders or their parents decided to significantly improve their business by introducing BBQ.

There was no shortage of funds. And the majority of meat was grown on their own farm, so that wasn’t a big concern.

In fact, this should’ve been their first priority, since this is what made them truly popular. The second location opened with the BBQ in mind in 1963, exactly 10 years after the fried chicken concept was launched.

Miller’s three sons eventually ended up in the family business after their degrees. While his only daughter got married to Louis Vance, who also joined the gang.

They worked in this business for 30 years before submitting their hard work to future generations. It is a beautiful story that goes on forever.

Are you still looking for good deals? Or maybe up-to-date info on Bill Miller BBQ menu prices? Then look no further than our second segment, which lists everything there is to it.

As far as we are concerned, only unique and notable dishes will be served on our plates. So go for the drinks and whatnot.

For example, the whole BBQ chicken. So what’s so unique about it? Well, the point is that there isn’t! But it’s not every day that we see a whole baked chicken in stores.

It’s our chance to try out a big meal that can be spoiled in a million ways. Temperature, rubs, quality of meat, and anything else can make significant changes to its flavors.

This meal doesn’t include any side dishes, so make sure to order them separately. Regardless, this big boy does smell good.

There is no rub to it, just plain old chicken baked whole in the oven. The outside skin is tender, but the inside still has a lot of juiciness left to it. And the fat rain came from within when I broke its limb.

That’s when the real fragrance started shining. The warm white meat was pure, without any additives or major changes.

Just good old meat that goes super well with grilled onions and BBQ sauce. Make sure to get these; otherwise, you won’t be able to experience the best of this meal.

Next up is the most popular dish so far, and it’s called Brisket Taco. But there’s a twist! This doesn’t have any veggies, sauce, or beans.

All you’ll get is a big slice of beef with eight legs from the brisket that they serve. The tortilla is the same as always, a flour one, but this is a thick slice too.

Final Thoughts

It’s high quality, all right. Every single protein portion was masterfully crafted. Most famous BBQ restaurants usually offer the same level of care.

In short, a good protein will always have a familiar taste. While the average or bad ones will just taste bad. Bill Miller’s BBQ doesn’t have any of that; it’s great and manages to remind us of luxurious flavor.

As far as the pricing goes, it’s pretty reasonable. Miller’s currently has over 70 locations in San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Austin, Texas.

That’s a clear indicator that thousands of people feel the same way. So in the end, Bill Miller BBQ managed to score 9/10 from our review crew. A marvelous place and a highly recommended one at that.
