Chick-fil-A Little Blue Menu History
The Little Blue Menu was announced in 2021 in Nashville, Tennessee, where it tested out the basic fundamentals of this concept.
The name “Blue Menu” is inspired by the founder of Chick-fil-A, S. Truett Cathy. He used to do a lot of experiments with his recipes in his early days.
After the food reaches a satisfactory position, he will present it to his customers on a blue menu. The color blue highlighted that it was a new dish and may not stay forever.
In fact, that was one of the many reasons why Chick-fil-A became this big. Overall, the company had planned to start a similar concept since his death on September 8, 2014.
It was a way to memorize his early days while preserving the generation-long tradition of presenting exciting experimental dishes on a blue-colored menu.
And that’s pretty much the entire story of why it was named The Little Blue Menu. It has historical, emotional, and intentional meaning to it.
The concept first was the day of light in Nashville. We don’t know for sure which items were experimented with at that place.
However, the end goal was to test out if the Little Menu would attract the required number of customers or not. It’s no surprise if you stick Chick-fil-A in anything; it would sell.
How can people say no if it comes from the actual brand itself? Well, the concept was successful in testing out more concepts for the future.
The Little Blue menu location from Nashville was probably closed down since the second location was opened in Maryland last autumn.
The third one was also announced in the College Park area of Maryland. So officially there are three, but as far as we can see, we could only locate two.
Chick-fil-A Little Blue Menu Review
Did you have a good look at the Little Blue menu with prices given above? You should be because some items are crazy weird.
For example, the Signature Single Burger. The main store also sells burgers, so what’s special about this?
Well, this one promises to only use the original ingredients from way back there. For example, the Never Frozen Brioche Bun and Butcher’s Blended Ground Beef Patty.
It has no Chick-fil-A sauce that alienates its flavor from the one from the main branch. It also uses traditional toppings like iceberg lettuce, white American cheese, grilled onions, and kosher dill pickles.
Here you’ll get a different kind of Burger Sauce that isn’t too fancy. A fresh combination of ingredients can make even the dullest food shine.
It’s a burger after all, so it’s a given that it tastes fantastic. It costs 12 bucks for a single patty meal. But you can also make it double for an extra 2-3 bucks.
Cinnamon Roll was next on the list, and man, it’s one good treat. The roll itself was soft, and it was filled with sweet cinnamon, which is kind of obvious.
But that’s not even the good part. It has another sweet layer on the outside. The icing is gooey and sticky and has a subtle sweet taste.
This subtle flavor allows the cinnamon filling to taste even sweeter since the icing touches your taste buds first, blasting those sugary nerves for the real deal.
And the last little blue menu item is the new and exclusive Blue Boba Breaker. This drink takes full advantage of huckleberry and its tartness.
Along with a few sips of watermelon and Sprite®. Boba sits at the bottom while the top part is smashed with a layer of sweet, cold foam.
Final Thoughts
All three items we tried were the original dishes that aren’t presented in the Chick-fil-A menu itself. But who knows, maybe it’ll soon enough.
The rest of the Little Blue menu items are interesting too. There are some unified dishes too from the main branch, like wraps, nuggets, Honey Pepper Pimento Sandwich, and so on.
In short, it doesn’t have any plan of only serving its original dishes. It’s a subsidiary, but it will also serve the majority of menu items from the main branch.
And with that, The Little Blue Menu by Chick-fil-A gets 9 out of 10. If you live anywhere near Maryland, then make sure to visit this tiny little place.
