Pat Martin founded this chain in October 2006 in Nolensville, Tennessee. And as you just heard, he was crazy about the whole hog thingy, which led him here.

He experienced it firsthand when he was living in Henderson, TN. He was a college student, and coincidentally, he faced the whole-hog technique from top to bottom.

It wasn’t just the taste, but the challenge of making one. The technique, the smell, the wood, the fire, and many factors affected how the meat would taste in the end.

It’s not just a technique at this point; it’s a culinary art that only a few pitmasters can pull off. Pat, our founder, didn’t back down.

He was holding on to that feeling—the burning desire to make the perfect meat with that same technique. He immediately began his training after his college ended.

Unlike many food maniacs, he didn’t go to some big institutes dedicated to barbecue. He learned everything from his own experience and hard work.

Apart from smoking, he also knows a lot about Puerto Rican cuisine. After all, most dishes are made with traditions in mind.

Martin’s BBQ tried its hardest to preserve the old ways by presenting it to everyone with a warm smile. Even you can enjoy it too, and thankfully this chain isn’t limited to Tennessee alone.

It has a couple of locations in Florida, Orlando, and Tampa. Online ordering is also available, so in most cases, you can have a bite or two while visiting either of those places.

The logo features a pig in the middle. Which is dedicated to the Whole-Hog technique. And if you don’t know already, the whole literally means an entire hog or pig. So it makes sense to have a hog on the logo.

Now it’s about time. But before doing anything, make sure to have a quick look at Martin’s BBQ menu prices, which are given above.

The pulled pork sandwich was the first item on our agenda. It’s the perfect one to check how great this whole-hog smoked meat tastes.

Plus, it has a great portion, so at least half of our hunger would be over by the end of this meal. The big star is the pulled pork.

But slaw topping isn’t bad either. It’s a smooth addition to this massive chunk of meat. Or pick the Devil’s Nectar Sauce for some fiery action.

Anyway, it comes with a free side. Usually, you should go for broccoli or other vegetable choices. We went for Fresh Cut Fries instead, since the next one is going to be a plate of salad.

As far as the meat goes, it’s something alright. It smoked well, and the smokiness isn’t all gone. So it has a nice charcoal flavor that gives it another layer of flavors.

The slaw can be a pain at first. You better skip that too; just focus on the side dish. Next up is the farmer’s salad. It’s been a while since a massive bowl of salad was served to us. And believe me, it’s literally too big to explain.

It uses so many ingredients, like Fresh Cut Lettuce Mix, Smoked Corn and Carrots, Pickled Onions, Cucumbers, Shredded Cheddar, Toasted Pecans, and Cornbread Croutons.

Along with your choice of meat. All that for just 10 bucks! This deal is insane, or maybe these ingredients are just cheap at this time of the year; who knows?

I went for Fried Chicken Tenders with Honey Mustard dressing. This blind combo was actually great—so great that my team couldn’t resist the smell.
