Rib City Grill is an American family-style BBQ restaurant chain based in Florida. Check below for the Rib City Grill menu with prices.
Here, steaks are smoked in a traditional way using red oak. We saw a few BBQ chains using wood instead of gas or other means of combustion.
And it did bring out a unique flavor. That’s the signature thing in Rib City, along with their rubs and sauces, and it just feels right.

Rib City Grill History
The Rib City of Colorado is a well-known location. But this was opened in 2004, while the real Rib City Grill goes way back.
In 1989, the first family-style real barbecue concept was born on U.S. 41 in Fort Myers, Florida. This quiet place was blessed with a not-so-quiet list of pitmasters who had crazy ideas about meat and rubs.
These crazy people infected everyone around them and forced each and everyone to come again and again to eat more meat!
By the start of the next year, another Rib City Grill was opened to fill the hunger of thousands of infected people. By this time, the owner knew they must find a bigger location.
Jokes aside, we have no idea who was the real mastermind behind this, at least for now, but we can assume that his hands were made to smoke meat.
The second location opened in Cape Coral. Maybe Paul and Craig Peden made this restaurant? Well, we saw their name multiple times, so maybe that’s our culprit!
Anyway, in 1992, a bigger location was scouted, and it was Fort Myers Beach. They are industry veterans with 20 years of experience, and this location happens to come by at the right moment.
So Fort Myers Beach was later converted into the new flagship location for Rib City Grill. More small and big locations started popping up left and right.
Until the Colorado location was established in 2004 by Mike Spradlin, this was by far the most profitable location, selling over 20,000 pounds each year.
This was also the first franchised location in Grand Junction, Colorado. The second one opened Fruita and Arvada, and the list just goes on. Right now, Rib City Grill has 21 locations across four major states.
Rib City Grill Review
Rib City Grill menu and prices will have some turns based on where you are ordering. For today’s review, we went to the flagship location in North Naples.
Our first choice was this juicy-looking fresh buffalo chicken tender. These boneless messes are covered in buffalo sauce, honey mustard dressing with a mild heat level and celery means this one just looks weird on the outside.
But the inside is filled with the power of Rib City’s finest cuisine. And yeah, it tastes blazingly good! The hottest chicken tender we had in a while and the fatty juice will force you for one more until there is no more!
Ribs might be a lot for us, at least in the middle of the breakfast rush. So we went for the smaller-sized one called the Baby Back Rib Plate.
It’s a lunchtime adaptation of the great Baby Back Rib. Small but deadly! 1 ⁄ 2 rack so the meat will feel more boneless.
It comes with two sides and garlic toast. Get French fries and BBQ beans for sides; that’s the one we love, or order extra onion rings.
Remember that rings will cost extra, so why not order them as a separate item instead of skipping one free one?
As for the rib, it’s alright. The outside sauce is smoked along with the meat, making sure it’s absorbed to a certain extent.
While the meat still has the good old pink spot, which isn’t raw nor fully cooked, that’s how good ribs look, and it is indeed a good rib!
I ordered a plate of garden salad that just cost $3.99. Only meat isn’t the best diet one should strive for; add a few greens here and there, and you won’t be returning to that white room ever again!

Final Thoughts
Rib or not, everything just tastes great. In a meat-savvy restaurant, no one would expect to receive special attention to greens. But the garden salad was made with quite good-quality ingredients.
And the Rib City Grill menu is so massive that it took me 20 minutes just to read through every one.
There are sandwiches, desserts, pickles, fries, and kids’ meals—just name it, and it shall be there. It just feels good to see a good number of options under a not-so-big name.
Even big brands don’t encourage a big list, which is sometimes disappointing. Well, at least Rib City has it covered, and I’ll say it’s quite fulfilling.
