Shane’s Rib Shack History
Shane’s Rib Shack was given birth in 2002 by two married couples named Shane and Stacey Thompson.
Shane, the founder, whose name this brand is based on, was a hardworking office worker before engaging in his own business.
He did the everyday grind, like working all day, feeling tired on weekends, and having no time for his loving wife.
These things stacked up slowly and started poisoning him. Until he decided to ditch all this abuse and start something that he’d be proud of.
Both couples went to his grandpa’s home, which is now known as Big Dad’s. He was a WW2 veteran, now retired and enjoying his peaceful life in the countryside.
Big Dad was an ambitious man, and his charisma got his grandson Shane. He was influenced by his wise words, and probably that’s what gave him the push.
He always used to say, “Do what you love, and do it better than anybody else.” Those were his exact words told to his grandson since the age of 14.
But that’s not all; he used to take Shane on his camping trips, teaching him stuff that no ordinary grandparents could and also showing him how to make a good living.
His motto drove him to achieve perfection even while cooking. That’s how the infamous BBQ sauce recipe was born.
After having a serious discussion with his grandpa, he finally decided to open his own shack with the recipe that his big dad had told him.
By 2008, Shane’s Rib Shack had over 80 locations, making it one of the fastest-growing fast-casual BBQ chains the nation has ever seen.
Covid has a big impact on Shane’s too, just like any other business. It forced them to close down around 30 of their restaurants, reducing the overall number to 54.

But the best highlight is their signature Shane’s Original BBQ Sauce, along with Shane’s Seasoning Salt, Shane’s Butt Rub, and Shane’s Rib-N-Chick Seasoning.
In short, if you are new to Shane’s, then blindly go for this pick. It has everything that Shane’s is known for, and believe us, you won’t be disappointed.
Baby back ribs and chicken tenders had a unique flavor to them. All thanks to their seasoning, salt, and other stuff.
We also heard that they hand chop the pork meat, giving it a smooth texture that no machine cuts can give.
And yeah, you can have two side dishes and one Texas toast with it. Onion rings and French fries were our preferred sides.
There were a few salads in there, but we had our eyes set on something else. Our eyes were set on Shack’s Salad, and we knew it was something that we couldn’t ignore.
It had one pork and three chicken dishes. We went for pork since it tasted fantastic from the initial expression.
