Wienerschnitzel is an American fast-food restaurant chain that specializes in hot dogs. Check below for the Wienerschnitzel menu with prices.
Despite the similarities with Wiener Schnitzel, Wienerschnitzel never sold that, despite advertising it a couple of times.
Other items include burgers, burritos, polis sandwiches, and more. There are only a limited amount of items on the menu, as with any fast-serving restaurant.
Anyways, this 63-year-old chain holds many great tales for us. But before that, let’s have a quick look at the Wienerschnitzel menu and prices.

Wienerschnitzel History
John Galardi, the founder of The Galardi Group, also founded this chain called Der Wienerschnitzel.
He arrived in California when he was 19. Desperate to find some quick buck, he started working part-time at Glen Bell.
Glen Bell is the founder of Taco Bell as we know it. He was paid Galardi 50 cents an hour at his Taco-Tia Taco Stand.
Later, Bell offered him to sell that stand for $12,000. Galardi accepted the offer, and he bought the restaurant after saving enough funds.
Again, Bell asked him to start a new restaurant on Pacific Coast Highway in Wilmington. He said he has to sell something new, apart from Tacos, since it’ll clash with Bell’s business.
This happened just a year before Taco Bell was founded. So he couldn’t let him sell his signature deals. So Galardi decided to go for a hot dog.
A traditional fast food dish that takes pretty much the same time as a taco. Then he and his wife started looking for a good name.
John’s Hot Dog was the default one. But he didn’t like it. It sounds nothing new, he said, and while looking through a cookbook, they stumbled upon Wiener Schnitzel.
At first, both of them thought who the hell would call it that? But it’s definitely better than John’s Hot Dog, so they proceeded with that but without any space in between.
In the 80s, some locations were converted to hamburger stands. Wienerschnitzel had over 200 locations at this point.
Later, Tastee-Freez products were introduced into the Wienerschnitzel’s menu. This brand is also owned by The Galardi Group.
The death of John Galardi was big news in 2013. He died of pancreatic cancer on April 13. Afterward, his wife took over his position after revealing that she was a silent partner.
Wienerschnitzel Review
His death was a big shock, but the company managed to survive. And that’s one of the biggest reasons why we can review it.
But first of all, make sure to have a quick look at the Wienerschnitzel menu prices given above. Prices will vary depending on various elements.
So with that, let’s begin our journey with the Mac ‘n Cheese Dog. It’s exactly what it sounds like a hot dog with the classic salty Mac ‘n Cheese.
More like Creamy Mac ‘n Cheese with their signature hot dog in a steamed bun. Nothing extraordinary, just straight goodies packed in as little space as possible.
There are no veggies, so all you can taste are the real deals. This takes me back to when I experimented with these two together while I was in college.
Back then, it didn’t work well because the hot dog was already covered in the sauce. And that sauce ruined the original taste of the creamy Mac ‘n Cheese.
But here there is no sauce. So you can have it the right way, and man, oh man, does this taste good! It’s fast food, alright, so the saltines are beyond the chart.
But if we ignore that, it has a subtle flavor that no other hot dog can reproduce. Regardless, it’s great, and that’s all that matters. Next up is Chicago Veggie Dog. The Hot Dog is for vegans, and thankfully Wienerschnitzel has three different flavors.
As for this one, it is more focused on heavy ingredients than just tomatoes and onions. For example, it has relish, sports peppers, pickle spears, yellow mustard, and celery salt.
And surprisingly, this tastes a tiny bit better than the first meal. The complex flavors cancel out the excessive salt while adding a sweet and sour taste.

Final Thoughts
It’s no wonder why people love Wienerschnitzel the way it is. Everything is cheap and cost-efficient. While serving the exact thing that people want.
Most people don’t care about greens, so they just deleted that along with a huge margin of price. Now all you are paying for is the protein portion, and it rarely costs that much.
Hot dogs, in fact, shouldn’t cost more than 5 bucks. And Wienerschnitzel knows that pretty well. But probably the biggest surprise was the vegan hot dogs.
Blew both my mind and expectations. It feels too great to say that Wienerschnitzel will get a full 10 marks out of 10. A definitely must-try place for any people of any age and preference.
