Planet Smoothie History
Martin Sprock founded Planet Smoothie in 1995 in Atlanta, Georgia. The main and only goal of this store was to serve the freshest smoothie humanly possible.
With the greatest quality fruits sliced after order and milk that comes running from the nearest dairy farm daily. The aim was clear, and it became solid as soon as people started praising it.
It’s no wonder that pretty much all smoothie brands will spout the same lines that we just did. Fresh ingredients, great quality, and whatnot.
But only a few have managed to keep that promise to this day. Planet Smoothie is one of them, and they could manage it because of their second goal.
And that’s to help not just humans but also the environment in which we live. Throughout the years, Planet Smoothie has entered into many contracts that directly or indirectly affect the environment.
The best example comes from 2007 when the brand decided to scout out the soul of their famous mascot, The Cup Man.
No, this isn’t a video game. Or maybe they are; who knows? We don’t know if Planet Smoothie has anything to do with that.
Regardless, the mascot would travel from Orlando to San Diego in a 30-day green trek. There were multiple motives attached to this trek.
The first one is definitely the advertisement. But the rest were related to the environment. Like recycling, biodiesel fuel that the truck would use, and fruit smoothies that keep the jungles in demand so they don’t get destroyed and end up turning into concrete jungles.
Many people participated, but in the end, Joel Moss Levinson, of Dayton, Ohio, won it by a long shot with his magnificent songs devoted to the campaign.

So with that, let’s start the show with Mangonada. This one will have mangoes in it. But what’s the Nada thing? Maybe it’s lemonade?
Anyways, apart from slices of mangoes, you’ll also get pineapple, orange sherbet, and Tajín® Chamoy Sauce.
Now I get it; this sauce has a big amount of lemon juice mixed in. That’s where the Nada comes from. That sauce also has chili peppers and sea salt. It’s mild, so it didn’t hurt that much.
But it gave it a fresh aroma. Usually the smoothies straight up taste sweet. But this had a salty blend to it with a pinch of chili, which suddenly pops in and fades away instantly.
A great way to start our day, isn’t it? Next up was a fruit bowl called Red, Whip & Blue. Not a cheap item by any means. But the ingredients justified the price, so we aren’t complaining.
You’ll get a couple of strawberries and lots of blueberries, granola, coconut whip, and your choice of açaí or dragon fruit base.
I’ll recommend going for Dragon Fruit. We don’t see it every day. And the things that this one fruit can provide are just leagues ahead of the rest combined.
The taste, well, we will leave that up to you to decide. It’s sweet, but not too much like apples or other fruits.
It has a subtle flavor, and I love it. Lastly, I had a chocolate Elvis. Everyone went for their own blend at this time.
