Philly Pretzel Factory History
Dan DiZio, a long-lived pretzel seller, started this awesome chain all the way back in 1998. He has been seen selling these treats since he was eleven.
His love and compassion for Pretzel go way beyond that. In his college days, he had already planned to open a pretzel shop.
Len Lehman, his trusty college friend, came forward and showed interest in his plan. Eventually, he became a partner in crime and started a small store in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
There is no solid information about his birthplace, but in all likelihood, he stayed in Philadelphia for quite a long time, or maybe this is his homeland.
Regardless, the store was jam-packed from day one. The name Dan echoed throughout Philadelphia, and people from far away came here to taste his treat.
His goodies were so popular that he couldn’t serve them all, eventually increasing the working hours from 4 to 6 hours a day.
Currently, most locations are stationed around 12 p.m. to 6 a.m. But the working hours are independent and solely rely on the store owner.
Anyhow, the added hours didn’t work out in the end. So now the only solution was to open more stores. Remember that Dan is not a big shot or some kind of entrepreneur.
He just loves making pretzels, and he never thought that one day his simple creations would force him to enter the big leagues.
The latest numbers are somewhere around the 100s to 150s. Even that is surprising considering how simple a dish it is.
Philly Pretzel Factory only focuses on quality, hand-twisting each batch before baking them. Again, it’s a simple dish, so nothing much can be done in the unique or innovative department.
Philly Pretzel Factory Review
It goes without saying that variety isn’t an option here. Some are unique, and we’ll try to order them. For now, make sure to check out our second segment for a full list of Philly Pretzel Factory menu and prices.
First on our list is the pretzel dog. A new dish that uses the all-famous Philly Pretzel wrapped in an all-beef hot dog.
It tastes just like any hot dog, but the pretzel gives it a different flavor. Not too big, just a minor thing.
It tastes okay, and it’s surprisingly one of the most popular items in the store. Probably among kids, because it cost only $2.75.
But the next one was fire, and it’s called Rivet Shaker. Bite-sized soft pretzels shimmered with big-sized salt inside a rivets shaker and a mini dipping sauce on the side.
Get Nacho Cheese; this is the best dipping sauce that Philly Pretzel Factory has right now. It looks so creamy and tastes like one, too.
Meanwhile, the pretzels are well-cooked and come warm out of the box. Just dip it in before engulfing the whole thing for maximum satisfaction.
Believe me, I was even surprised by how good it tastes. It’s far better than the hot dog one. Plus, the sauce is truly something else.
The next one is a different variation of this. The only difference is that the nuggets were covered in cinnamon sugar.
This powder doesn’t have the dominating sweetness of regular sugar; instead, it has a strong smell that somehow underwhelms it.
Plus, it is naturally less sweet, so that’s that. I’ll recommend buying both of them. It’s an experience worth experiencing.
But my favorite one is probably the chocolate-covered pretzels. It’s covered in milk powder, and what can be better than that?

Final Thoughts
Soft or Philly Pretzels have a long history with churches. Some say European monks rewarded their apprentices with these baked goods.
Whatever the story may be, it’s a fact that it is a hell of a dessert. It’s so good and unique that some may even say it is an entirely different thing.
Anyway, it’s a baked pastry that has many flavors throughout the world. However, only a few brands survive by selling these.
Philly Pretzel Factory is definitely one of them, and that’s why they deserve 10/10 from us. Highly recommended in your future America tour, or maybe you just want to eat something fun!
